NBC News: About 70% of Republicans think Trump can defeat Biden

About 68% of Republican voters continue to support former US President Donald Trump, despite the accusations against him. This stems from an NBC News poll.

The channel notes that more than two-thirds of voters who will vote in the Republican primaries agree with the claim that the investigation against Trump is politically motivated and aimed at preventing him from leading the United States again. They also believe that “we must support him now in order to prevent his opponents from winning”.

Another 26% of respondents hold the opposite opinion. They believe another candidate should be chosen who can focus on defeating the current President of the United States, Joe Biden, in the general election.

About half of voters (46%) said they would vote for Trump if the GOP primary were held now.

Support for Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, considered Trump’s closest rival in the United States, was announced by 31% of those polled. Another 6% would back former Vice President Mike Pence.

Of all the supporters of the Republican and Democratic parties polled, 60% believe that Trump should not participate in the presidential election, 35%, on the contrary, support his nomination.

Only one in four voters support Biden’s re-election. 70% of those polled think he doesn’t need to fight for the presidency.
