Washington. India’s economic growth is helping to advance the bilateral business relationship in addition to providing opportunities for American companies. This was stated by Atul Keshap, President of the US-India Business Council (USIBC).
Keshap said on Wednesday that America’s ‘business-to-business’ relationship with India is directly creating jobs for America’s middle class. He said that this year US-India bilateral trade has crossed $190 billion. US exports of industrial machinery, pharmaceuticals and electronics equipment have increased.
He said that as India progresses, its economy will become more important to American companies. He said at an event here that with the urbanization of the Indian population and its inclusion in the global middle class, their demand for US goods would increase. This will lead to expansion of innovation and culture.
Keshap said that as India’s ambition to become a global manufacturing hub progresses, its demand for American industrial equipment and intellectual property (IP) is increasing rapidly. He said that India’s economy is growing and because of this it is today the most important export market for industries that support American jobs.
