Russian President Vladimir Putin was not in the Kremlin when an attempt was made to attack the presidential residence using drones. This was stated by the press secretary of the head of state Dmitry Peskov.
The press service also said it considered the action a planned assassination attempt against the Russian leader on the eve of the Victory Day celebration.
“We consider these actions a planned terrorist act and an attempt on the life of the President of the Russian Federation, carried out on the eve of Victory Day, the May 9 parade, during which the presence of foreign guests is also planned,” the Kremlin said in a statement.
On the night of May 3, two Ukrainian drones attempted to attack the presidential residence in the Kremlin. Thanks to the use of radar warfare systems, there were no casualties or damage to infrastructure, the Kremlin said.
