Nebenzya appealed to the OSCE with a demand for a response to the oppression of the rights of believers in Ukraine

The Russian Federation asks the OSCE to pay attention to the fact of the oppression of the rights of believers in Ukraine. This statement was made by the Permanent Representative of Russia to the UN Vasily Nebenzya.

According to him, state institutions and special services of Ukraine in every way oppress the freedom of religion and the life of religious communities in this country.

“We demand from the current presidency real actions to protect religious freedoms in Ukraine in accordance with OSCE principles and commitments,” Nebenzya told a meeting of the UN Security Council.

Earlier, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, said that the persecution of the Ukrainian authorities against the UOC had reached a new level – attempts were underway to completely destroy the canonical Ukrainian church.
