What did the US Embassy say?

The U.S. Embassy in Kiev writes on its website that in light of the recent escalation of missiles across Ukraine and “incendiary rhetoric from Moscow,” the State Department is warning citizens Americans against the growing and continuing threat of missile attacks on Kiev. She added that U.S. citizens are encouraged to monitor alert systems, seek refuge, follow instructions from local authorities, and review additional security information provided by the Embassy regarding personal safety.

Russian missile strikes

The death toll from the Russian bombing of the Kherson region has risen to 21 dead and 48 injured, according to what Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced on Wednesday evening. “At the moment, 21 people have been killed and 48 injured,” Zelenskyy wrote on Telegram. He added that the strikes affected “a train station, a hardware store, a supermarket and a gas station”, according to “Agence France Presse”.

Russian promise

Deputy head of Russia’s National Security Council Dmitry Medvedev has called for the Ukrainian president and his cronies to be “got rid of” after Putin’s residence was attacked by two drones. Medvedev said: “The drone attack leaves Russia no choice but to get rid of Zelenskyy and his associates.” In the same context, Russian State Duma Chairman Vyacheslav Volodin called for the use of weapons capable of deterring and destroying the Kiev regime.

Putin’s assassination attempt

The Kremlin said in a statement: “Two drones targeted the Kremlin, and following timely measures taken by the military and special services using radar warfare systems, both drones were disabled.” He added that the president was unharmed by the terrorist attack, that his schedule had not changed and that he carried on as usual. He continued: “There were also no casualties in the attack, and the drone fragments were scattered across Kremlin territory.”

Ukrainian denial

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said his country was not targeting Russian President Vladimir Putin or the Russian capital, Moscow, stressing that the military only fights on Ukrainian soil.
