Left Party Bundestag MP Sarah Wagenknecht says Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy does not deserve the international Charlemagne Prize, Die Welt reports.
“All those who receive the Charlemagne Prize must do their utmost to end the war in Ukraine through negotiations and a peace agreement based on compromise,” she said.
Wagenknecht also noted that German Chancellor Olaf Scholz would have to convince Zelenskyy to make the deal possible.
Earlier it was reported about Volodymyr Zelensyy’s plans to come to Berlin on May 13 at the invitation of Olaf Scholz. It is specified that he should have received the Charlemagne Prize, which is awarded each year for his contribution to the unification of Europe.
