On the banks of the Narva, a Slovak citizen in a diving suit, who was swimming in the Russian Federation, was arrested

In the Leningrad region, on the banks of the Narva River, a man was arrested while swimming across the Russian border in a wetsuit and with an inflatable buoy. This was reported by the press service of the border department of the FSB of Russia in St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region.

The detainee is a Slovak citizen. He swam across the Russian border from Estonia. The man was arrested on May 1. The Estonian side has already been informed of the violation. What is the purpose of the illegal visit to Russia by a foreigner is not specified.

The press service added that the swimmer had put his belongings in a backpack, placing it in a swimming ring. On May 3, a coercive measure in the form of detention was chosen against the man.

During this time, the use of unmanned aerial vehicles was banned on the territory of the Leningrad region. A similar restriction applies in St. Petersburg.
