who throws dead pigs near the temple under construction in Moscow

On the territory of the Moscow Nature Reserve “Valley of the Setun River” for several years, unidentified people have scattered the corpses of pigs, fish and animal skulls. Residents of the nearby Matveevskoe microdistrict believe. that it had something to do with the construction of the temple. Calls to the district attorney’s office and local district police officers do not help find the perpetrators. Russian media understood the situation.

It all started with the construction of the church two or three years ago, says Irina, a resident of the neighborhood. “For a long time, we only had a small chapel, in the area of the Setun River Valley. And literally two or three years ago they decided to build a big church. From that moment, behind the church, they often began to find either suckling pigs or the heads of already grown pigs. One winter they found pig carcasses, and underneath was a photograph of a man. In other words, it looks like some kind of wizards, or something, or some kind of esotericism. They say sometimes goat skulls have been found,” she said.

The Setun Valley is part of the nature reserve of the same name, so its territory remains in a natural and undeveloped state for the most part. Nevertheless, this is the only large park in the Matveevsky district, and local residents often go there for walks with their children, and in the summer they relax by the river. Since there is no official recreation area, there are no surveillance cameras either.

“I personally walked with the child, I saw the skull of a dog. But I thought maybe she had run away, she was dead and she had decomposed. This is such an abandoned corner of nature. But apparently someone is still trading, – Irina argues, – Recently, he has been especially active. They do this for a few periods, in the meantime they calm down, then they start again.

So far, no one has been able to notice those throwing away the leftovers or even just people with suspicious packages. Therefore, it is not clear whether it is a hooligan or a group of occultists. In the meantime, locals have dubbed the alleged skinner the Hryukatilo.

“We gave him a nickname, of course everyone laughs that we have such an eccentric. But it’s really no longer funny when they find dairy pigs tidy with their intestines out,” says a local resident.

Another unanswered question is where the carcasses come from. There are no nearby pig farms, factories or markets where whole pigs (live or dead) are sold. At the same time, local residents note that in winter they found quite fresh, recently killed carcasses. The latest incident occurred on May 2, this time dead fish were lying on the piglet carcasses.

Law enforcement is still inactive. Local residents appealed to the district police and the prosecutor’s office with a request for an investigation into what was happening. But the prosecutor’s office was notified to contact the district police officer, and the activity of state organs ceased.

The inhabitants place their last hopes on the ministers of the church. “Recently, the neighbors have for example the idea of turning to the church. Maybe they will say that they themselves saw something there, maybe video cameras were installed. But so far, I know, no one has contacted them,” said one.

Russian media correspondent spoke with the rector of the temple, Fr John. He said they encountered a similar problem in 2017, when they found a severed cat’s head at the site near the temple. However, after some time a fence was erected around the chapel and it did not happen again.

The cat’s head was found by the catechist (church educator – ed.) of the temple Michael. He said he came to the service in the morning and saw something covered in sackcloth outside the main entrance of the temple. “I picked it up, there was a cat’s head. I think it’s not a person, but a group of people. I didn’t communicate with the parishioners about it, ”says Mikhail. The Father John added that they did not apply to law enforcement.

A resident of Matveevsky, Dmitry Suchkov, told an Russian media correspondent that in the 90s there were Satanists in the area – high school students from local schools No. 42 and No. 814. Near Setun they tortured cats. Then their activity quickly faded: one, nicknamed the Kid, died of a drug overdose, and the other two entered the army, then did not return to Satanism.

“Now it’s also very similar to some kind of rituals, maybe it was all organized by the group. So far, only pigs’ heads, a horse’s skull and intestines have been dragged, it was like the actions of an unhealthy person. And this spring they are already carrying two or three carcasses, maybe two. In any case, I am afraid that these are people who clearly need treatment and the disease progresses Today a pig cutter by the river, carcasses with freed entrails, and tomorrow they will be interested in what is inside a person I’m not the only one scared,” Suchkov shared.

The upcoming discoveries in the Setun floodplain are often discussed on the city’s telegram channels: “Maybe there was news from some sectarians?? In the morning you go out for a walk with the dog, and here the pig’s head is on the road. Others suggest that cultists have nothing to do with it: it’s how unscrupulous owners of local cafes dispose of unclaimed carcasses.

In the neighborhood group “Ochakovo-Matveevskoe” on publication Residents responded on May 3 to the Moscow Department of Environmental Management. Department officials said they sent doctors from the Animal Disease Control Station to collect samples for testing. The carcasses were promised to be removed and disposed of.

Russian media sent requests to the Prosecutor’s Office and the Main Directorate of the Moscow City Interior Ministry with a request to pay attention to what is happening in the Setun Valley.
