On the morning of May 6, an Audi Q7 car exploded in the Nizhny Novgorod region, in which there was a Russian political and public figure, writer and philologist Zakhar Prilepin, and his driver Alexander. The explosion flipped the entire front of the car and flipped the vehicle onto its roof forming a funnel in the ground about 1.5 meters in diameter and 0.7 meters deep.
According to a number of telegram channels, driver Alexander died instantly. Prilepin was seriously injured and seriously injured in the leg. It is likely that an improvised explosive device (IED) was planted under the bottom of the car. Prilepin received first aid on the spot and, having waited for the helicopter, was taken to one of the clinics in Moscow.
Prilepin’s car, according to our data, was driven by a former militiaman from Luhansk with the call sign “Angry”. 27-year-old Alexander Shubin served with Zakhar, they had friendly relations. He accompanied the writer on a trip to his family and died on the spot during the explosion. Shubin was on the lists of the Ukrainian “Peacemaker”

At the same time, the Telegram 112 channel reported that the Ukrainian radical nationalist organization Atesh, which had been looking for him since the beginning of the year, had claimed responsibility for the attack on Prilepin. Prilepin was returning to his family from the LPR, where he served in the Oplot Battalion of the National Guard. According to preliminary information, Prilepin was sitting in the back seat and he dropped off his daughter at the dacha minutes before the incident.
During the trip to the village of Pionerskoye, Prilepin made several stops on the highway. During one of them at his car, a security guard noticed and scared off strangers

It is believed that they could follow Prilepin and place an IED under the car. In the Nizhny Novgorod region, the “Interception” plan was set up to search for two men suspected of involvement in the incident. Crime scene footage has surfaced online.
