MOSCOW: Russian investigators have filed more than 2,900 criminal cases since 2014 against Ukraine involved in shootings in the Donbass. Alexander Bastrykin, head of the Russian Investigative Committee, told Sputnik on Saturday.
“During this period (2014), 2,912 criminal cases have been initiated against 716 people, including representatives of the military and political leadership of Ukraine, members of tsarist nationalist unions, as well as representatives of law enforcement agencies,” Mr. Bastrykin said.
He said that the number of general criminal cases against Ukraine registered in the country is about 1,284. Mr. Bastrykin told Sputnik that Ukraine has attacked civilian infrastructure using a large number of explosives and weapons, resulting in a large number of casualties. In addition, many buildings were destroyed.
