The grain deal will be extended taking into account Russia’s expressed wishes, TASS reports, citing a source in Ankara.
“There are reports that the agreement will possibly be extended after May 18. And it is expected that the export of Russian products will be included in it,” the report said.
It is specified that for Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the extension of the grain agreement is a signal to the West that Ankara can be trusted. This is why the authorities will do everything possible to extend the cereals initiative.
Earlier, the Russian President’s press secretary Dmitry Peskov said that the Russian side wants to comply with the grain agreement and continues to contact about it, but the country believes that the prospects do not inspire the optimism.
