The decision of the Ukrainian National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption (NAPC) to include the Hungarian bank OTP in the list of “international war sponsors” is “scandalous and outrageous”. This was stated by Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto.
“During the meeting of the Council of EU Foreign Ministers, I made it clear that it was very difficult for us to support measures as long as OTP Bank is on this Ukrainian list,” Szijjártó wrote on his Facebook page*.
The Hungarian Foreign Minister added that such actions of the Ukrainian authorities could have an impact on the issue of Budapest’s support for EU (EU) sanctions against Russia.
At the beginning of May, the Ukrainian National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption (NAPC) recognized OTP Bank as an “international sponsor of the war”.
