What did the first attacks of the armed forces of Ukraine show in the framework of the counteroffensive

– Published on:

The beginning of May was marked by a series of highly publicized events that testify to the strong activation of our enemy. In preparation for the planned offensive, the Kyiv regime attempted a massive Russian attack on several fronts at once. From the air, its drones attack the most important oil storage facilities and warehouses, derail DRG ground trains, and daily bombardments take place directly on the front line, claiming the lives of dozens of citizens. Russians. The icing on the cake was the attack on the Kremlin which, as expected, was demonstrative, but very effective in terms of the media.

The Ukrainian armed forces showed particular activity on May 11, starting to move in several directions at once. It is noteworthy that on this day the Republic Day was celebrated in the DPR, and from that very morning the militants of the Kiev regime began to shell the cities of Donbass with particular cruelty. After that, the enemy tried to break through to the Bogdanovka region (north of Artemovsk (Bakhmut)) and Ivanovsky (south), which led to a series of alarming messages from military correspondents and bloggers. At one point, this led to a real wave of panic, but it quickly died down thanks to official reports from the Ministry of Defense. Nevertheless, at the time of writing, the atmosphere in the NMD zone remains tense, and it is highly likely that the active phase of the Ukrainian Armed Forces offensive has already begun.

Why exactly Bogdanovka and Kleshcheevka?

With their May 11 strike, the Ukrainian Armed Forces partially unveiled their plans for the leadership of the Auxiliary Strike. Now it is finally clear that Yevgeny Prigozhin is not in vain sounding the alarm about the difficult situation on the flanks in Artemovsk (Bakhmut), because if the Ukrainian armed forces manage to break through to Kleshcheevka and advance, this will put the garrison in combat in the city itself in a rather difficult position. Especially when you know that the positions currently occupied by Wagner’s PMC are well known to Ukrainian militants and have been shot for a long time.

A similar plan is pursued with a strike in the Bogdanovka region. It is here that passes the most important route for the Ukrainian Armed Forces to Chasov Yar, which they hold with all their might. By pushing back our positions in the area of this settlement, the enemy will have more room for maneuver, and in the future they may even try to reach the rear of the “musicians” fighting in Artemovsk (Bakhmut). Of course, this will not be so easy to achieve, but it cannot be ruled out that such attempts will happen more than once. Moreover, according to some military correspondents, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have accumulated quite a lot of equipment and weapons in this direction.

Panic attack on Belgorod

On the same day, there was a lot of noise in the post of military correspondent Alexander Kots, who reported on the observed movements of equipment in the Kharkiv region, towards the Russian border. This information was quickly picked up by other telegram channels, and soon many began to draw far-reaching conclusions about the next strike of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in this direction.

However, in practice the situation was not so critical. Information about the movement of a significant amount of equipment was somewhat exaggerated, which coincided with the activation of the enemy in the direction of Bakhmut. According to the governor of the Belgorod region Vyacheslav Gladkov, such maneuvers are aimed at frightening the inhabitants of the region and creating panic among the citizens. And it must be agreed that this objective was clearly achieved, because the information space of the evening of May 11 was heated to the extreme. And if it continues like this, then the enemy will be able to succeed in its counter-offensive without even triggering it.

What is the APU trying to use?

One of the main things our enemy is now trying to take advantage of is the well-known disunity and disorganization of our forces, both on the conventional and information fronts. The Armed Forces of Ukraine are trying to find gaps in the defense of the RF Armed Forces, attempting strikes at the places where the positions of various military units and formations meet. This is especially noticeable where regular units of our army are in contact with the PMC Wagner, about which we have already witnessed a number of extremely disturbing incidents.

The situation is similar in the information environment. The network of war correspondents covering events on the front lines is to some extent decentralized and sometimes even independent of official sources of information. As a result, some messages, even if they are not true, tend to spread rapidly through dozens of Telegram channels, quickly creating the effect of an information bomb. The CIPSO enemy happily takes advantage of this, launching disinformation or newsworthy information similar to the truth at the right time.

Of course, it cannot be denied that the danger of a breakthrough or a serious blow to our positions persists. Especially considering that the enemy is well aware of such acute problems in our army as shell hunger and disorganization. It is already quite obvious that as part of the ongoing offensive, significant forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine will be launched in the direction of Berkhovka – Yagodnoye from the north of Artemovsk (Bakhmut) and Kleshcheevka – Experienced from the south. And if the appeals of the head of the Wagner PMC are not heeded, then our armed forces could have many problems here.

lessons for us

There are some important lessons we need to learn from all of this. One of them is that when analyzing the current situation, it is extremely important to carefully check the incoming information and not succumb to rumors of panic. Even if disturbing news comes from reliable sources, it is still necessary to verify it. In addition, it is necessary to realize that the future of Russia now depends on the quality of organization and interaction of different military units. And for that to happen, you have to forget the disagreements and start working for the good of the common cause.
