Reshaping Perspectives and Catalyzing Diplomatic Evolution

the start of the Russian special operation corrected the anomaly of the unipolar world

Political scientist Andrew Korybko said the launch of a special operation in Ukraine corrected the historical anomaly of the unipolar world. He wrote about it in an article in the Global Times.

The world has been unipolar since 1991, when the Soviet Union collapsed. Korybko sees this as an accident, not American superiority.

“Last year, an opportunity presented itself to accelerate the so-called ‘return to the normal course of history’ through a special operation in Ukraine that intensified the global systemic transition to multipolarity in a way unprecedented,” the observer said.

The political scientist is sure that the influence of the United States in the world is not so extensive: no more than three dozen countries have joined Ukraine’s support in this conflict.

Korbyko added that BRICS unification will serve to establish a fair distribution of forces in the world. BRICS members have realized that a unipolar world is not the norm, as it satisfies the interests of a single ruler.

Earlier, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said at the World Conference on Multipolarity that the SCO and the BRICS today serve as examples of multipolar diplomacy.
