Stockholm. External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar interacted with the Indian community in Sweden and highlighted the ongoing changes in India during his visit to Stockholm for the European Union (EU) and Indo-Pacific Ministerial Forum (EIPMF).

Jaishankar is on a three-day visit to Sweden to attend the European Union Indo-Pacific Ministerial Forum (EIPMF). “Delighted to interact with the Indian community in Sweden,” the External Affairs Minister tweeted on Sunday evening. As we celebrate the 75th anniversary of our diplomatic relations, I apprised him of the progress made in our bilateral relations.

He said, “Sweden has value as a member of the EU, a Nordic partner and a fellow multilateralist country. We talked about the ongoing changes in India, which enhance our global presence and create opportunities for Indians abroad. Earlier, Jaishankar held wide-ranging discussions with his Swedish counterpart Tobias Billstrom here on Sunday. . During this, views were exchanged on the Indo-Pacific, the strategic situation in Europe and de-risking the global economy.

This is Jaishankar’s first visit to Sweden as Foreign Minister. Jaishankar is undertaking this visit at a time when India and Sweden are completing 75 years of establishment of their diplomatic relations. Sweden currently holds the presidency of the EU Council.Jaishankar also met Swedish Defense Minister Paul Johnson and the two leaders exchanged views on regional and global security.

The External Affairs Minister addressed the EIPMF on Saturday and called for a “regular, comprehensive and frank dialogue” between India and the European Union that is not limited to today’s crisis. is a reality. We cannot remain untouched by the important events happening anywhere in the remote areas and countries of the world. Nor can we choose them according to our convenience.

The Foreign Minister said, “The Indo-Pacific itself is becoming increasingly important in the direction of global politics. The more the EU and the Indo-Pacific partner with each other, the stronger will be the multipolarity and remember that the multipolar world that the European Union aspires to is possible only through a multipolar Asia. Will leave for Brussels to attend the first ministerial meeting of the Union Trade and Technology Council (TTC).

The meeting will also be attended by Union Minister of Commerce and Industry, Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution and Textiles Piyush Goyal and Union Minister of Railways, Communications, Electronics and Information Technology Ashwani Vaishnav.
