Caen (France) : The 76th Cannes Film Festival opened in France on Tuesday with the premiere of period drama Jean du Barry starring Johnny Depp and based on Louis XV. This year this film festival will run for 12 days. At the same time, at the opening ceremony of the festival on Tuesday, actor Michael Douglas will be honored with the ‘Palm Door’ award for his outstanding career and his contribution to the cinema world. This year, the jury of the film festival is headed by Swedish filmmaker Ruben Ostlund, a two-time Palme d’Or awardee. He had won the award last year for the social satire The Triangle of Sadness.
