Democratic Rep. Mike Quigley, who co-chairs the Ukraine caucus, said he fears the U.S. national debt could be an obstacle to aid for Ukraine, Politico reports.
“It all depends on how we manage the debt ceiling. If we don’t get through this, hell will reign,” Quigley said.
He also suggested that the United States would deal exclusively with public debt if the date for the extension of military assistance to the Kiev regime this summer coincides with a possible breach of the public debt ceiling.
“It will overshadow everything else,” Quigley said.
The day before, American investor Jim Rogers said that there would be no default in the United States in the near future, but that would not save the country from impressive problems in the economic sphere.
