In a statement after the meeting, G7 leaders reaffirmed their “firm determination to provide Ukraine with the economic support it needs” to restore its infrastructure, as well as “stabilize its macroeconomic and financial situation”. .
The countries participating in the G7 summit in the Japanese city of Hiroshima also agreed to strengthen the coordination of actions among themselves and with Ukraine within the framework of the inter-agency donor coordination platform for Ukraine for a process more efficient and faster reconstruction of the country.
This platform is designed to coordinate donor support according to Ukraine’s needs, promote reforms in Ukraine in line with its European orientation and promote the country’s sustainable growth with the support of the private sector.
“We will continue our joint efforts to support the repair, recovery and reconstruction of Ukraine’s critical infrastructure,” the meeting said in a statement. “We intend to use the Platform as the main mechanism to ensure that our assistance and support for reforms is well coordinated, coherent and mutually reinforcing.”
The participants of the meeting also promised to contribute to the restoration of Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, as well as to share their experience, knowledge and expertise in the humanitarian field, the elimination of the consequences of war and the pollution of the environment.
The participants of the meeting also noted the importance of the role of the private sector, including in the development of trade and investment, which will also contribute to the restoration of infrastructure and economic stability in Ukraine.
The G7 member countries have also expressed their hope that the Ukraine Reconstruction Conference, to be held in London on June 21-22 this year, will accelerate the momentum of the country’s reconstruction.
