EU could impose sanctions on companies in China that help the Russian Federation
The forecast was voiced by European Commission chief Ursula von der Leyen, saying that the European Union intends to impose sanctions on eight companies registered in China and help Russia circumvent restrictions on sanctions, according to the TELMENEWS.RU news agency. , China is not the only country in respect of which Russia is considering introducing restrictions.
The head of the European Commission spoke on behalf of the ZDF television channel, writes Gazeta.ru. Ursula von der Leyen notes that eight Chinese companies have owners from other countries and also partly exist on paper.
The new sanctions package will consolidate restrictions imposed on more than 90 companies around the world. These are companies for which, according to Ursula von der Leyen, there is evidence of circumvention of sanctions restrictions. The new sanctions will target, among others, companies from third countries that help Russia receive goods from Europe.
