The founder of the Wagner private military company, Yevgeny Prigozhin, said his units lost around 20,000 people in the battles for Artyomovsk, half of them prisoners.

In addition, he said that Wagner PMC recruited 50,000 prisoners, and 35,000 people participated in the Artyomovsk battles with contractors.

“During the operation, I chose 50,000 prisoners, of whom about 20% died. Exactly the same number of them died as those who came to us under contract,” he said in a statement. interview with media technologist Konstantin Dolgov.
