In Taiwan, 33 planes and 10 Chinese ships approached the island

Over the past day, the Taiwanese armed forces have detected 33 aircraft and 10 vessels from the People’s Republic of China. This became known from the statement of the island’s defense department.

“From Friday, May 26 at 6:00 a.m. to Saturday, May 27 at 6:00 a.m., 33 aircraft and 10 Chinese People’s Liberation Army ships were observed around Taiwan,” the ministry said on Twitter.

At the same time, 12 out of 33 aircraft entered the air defense identification zone of the island, including four Su-30 fighters, four J-10s, a Y-8 transport aircraft, a WZ-7 drone , a J-16 fighter and a Z-9 helicopter.


Earlier it became known that Taiwan would purchase 400 Harpoon missiles in the event of a conflict with China. US officials said they were ready to send their troops to protect Taiwan from the PRC. According to Representative Michael McCall of Texas, the island will not be able to resist Beijing alone.
