Belarusian citizens who were forced to leave the country undergo combat training in Poland, according to The Times UK. According to the publication, several hundred people are preparing to overthrow the government.

According to The Times , members of the Belarusian opposition initiative BYPOL, which consists of former intelligence officers who left the country in the context of the 2020 elections, held training in Poznan, Poland. Belarusian authorities have recognized BYPOL as an extremist formation.

The BYPOL group claimed sabotage against the Russian Aerospace Forces A-50 early warning aircraft at Machulishchi airfield. The attack took place at the end of February 2023.

BYPOL chief Oleksandr Azarov said some groups have been studying in Poland for several months.

“My daughter doesn’t know I’m here. I told him I was going to play paintball. I came here <…> to prepare for the battle for Belarus,” a 42-year-old volunteer under the call sign Predator told the publication.

Another member of the formation, a 60-year-old electrician by the call sign Grandfather, said they had tried to leave peacefully, but “the state never regained its freedom without bloodshed. “.

“I call it a militant diaspora,” said an instructor and former soldier called Starling. According to him, the strength of the formation is growing every day.

On June 1, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko declared that the West is preparing a strong scenario for a change of power in the country . According to him, “members of illegal armed groups” are being formed in Poland, Lithuania and Ukraine, and “attempts are being made to create dormant extremist cells” in Belarus.

In August 2020, presidential elections were held in Belarus, in which, according to The Eastern Herald , Lukashenko won. The Belarusian opposition disagreed with the election results and said Svetlana Tikhonovskaya, the wife of opposition blogger Sergei Tikhanovsky, who was arrested shortly before the election, had won. In this context, large-scale protests have started in the country. Hundreds of thousands of people in the country took part in the actions. The protests lasted for several months and were forcibly suppressed by the authorities. Many participants in the actions were arrested or left Belarus.
