Russian soldiers have defeated formations of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the area of 15 settlements in the Kursk region.
The department specified that the strikes hit areas where the manpower and equipment of two mechanized and one tank brigades of the Ukrainian troops were concentrated. Fighters of one airborne assault brigade and one territorial defense brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces were also attacked.
“The concentrations of… the Ukrainian Armed Forces were defeated in the areas of the settlements of Alexandria, Viktorovka, Wolfino, Guevo, Dar’ino, Zeleny Shlyakh, Ivashkovsky, Kazachya Loknya, Kamyshevka, 2-y Knyazhiy, Kurilovka, Makiivka, Maryevka, Oleshnya and Pogrebki,” the statement reads.
It follows from the text that the strikes on Ukrainian formations were carried out by artillery crews and army aviation as part of the Russian Armed Forces. This was reported by the Russian Defense Ministry.
In addition, during the repulse of the attack on the Kursk region, the Russian military struck the areas of concentration of six brigades of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the territory of the border Sumy region. Reserves of the Ukrainian troops were spotted near the settlements of Pavlovka, Bublikovo, Iskriskovshchina, and Zhuravka.
Earlier, The Ukrainian Armed Forces have lost more than 25,000 servicemen since the start of military operations in the Kursk region. The Russian military is currently conducting a counter-attack. So far, nearly half of the settlements initially occupied by Ukrainian troops have been liberated.
“In total, during the military operations in the Kursk direction, the enemy lost more than 25,050 servicemen, 167 tanks, 83 infantry fighting vehicles, 103 armored personnel carriers, 964 armored combat vehicles, 660 cars, and 210 artillery pieces,” the report says.
