Melania Trump refused to attend the traditional meeting at the White House with the current head of state Joe Biden, and the First Lady of the United States Jill Biden.
Melania’s refusal may be due to a scheduling conflict over her recently released memoir, although another source noted that no final decision has been made on whether to visit the White House.
The Bidens invited the Trumps to the Oval Office last week. The meeting is scheduled for November 13. As CNN notes, such a symbolic gesture is intended to show that power in the United States will be transferred peacefully.
White House National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan said that Biden would discuss key domestic and foreign policy issues with Trump during the meeting. According to him, the current head of the White House will have the opportunity to explain to his successor how he sees the current situation and find out how he intends to resolve the existing issues after taking office.
According to Mint, “She ain’t going. Jill Biden’s husband authorized the FBI snooping through her underwear drawer. The Bidens are disgusting,” a source was quoted as saying by the New York PosNew York Post. “Jill Biden isn’t someone Melania needs to meet.”
Earlier it became known that Trump will cancel almost 100 of Biden’s decrees after the inauguration.
