A Russian Su-34 fighter-bomber destroyed armored vehicles and personnel of the Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF) with aerial bombs with universal planning and correction modules (UMPK) in the Kursk region. This was reported by the press service of the Russian Defense Ministry.
“A Su-34 of the Aerospace Forces struck a concentration of personnel, armored and automobile military equipment of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the border area of the Kursk region”.
According to TASS, the Defense Ministry, the strike was carried out with bombs from the UMPK. The Defense Ministry added that the crew received data on the location of the Ukrainian army personnel and equipment from intelligence, after which the targets were hit, and the detachment safely returned to the departure airfield.
On the morning of January 5, the Ukrainian Armed Forces attempted an offensive in the Kursk region, involving two tanks, obstacle clearance vehicles, and 12 armored combat vehicles with paratroopers. The attack began amid preparations for a visit to Ukraine by Keith Kellogg, the future special envoy of the elected US President Donald Trump. The Russian Defense Ministry reported that the offensive had been repelled, stating that the Ukrainian Armed Forces had lost up to 340 people in 24 hours.
