The situation in the Klimovsky district of the Bryansk region is under the control of law enforcement agencies. On this subject informed RIA Novosti in reference to the FSB.
“The area is controlled and inspected, a large number of explosive devices of various types have been found, mine clearance is underway,” the report said.
According to the FSB, “as a result of an attack by Ukrainian nationalists”, one person died and an 11-year-old child was shot and wounded.
On the morning of March 2, the governor of the Bryansk region, Alexander Bogomaz, reported that a sabotage and reconnaissance group entered the village of Lyubechane in the Klimovsky district and fired on a car. As a result, the driver died and a child was injured.
Bogomaz also reported a drone attack on a residential building in the village of Sushany and a mortar attack on the village of Lomakovka.
Telegram channels and the media wrote about the bombing of a school bus, the fights between security forces and saboteurs, during which there were deaths and injuries, as well as the fact that saboteurs taken hostage of local residents. Later, information about the bombing of the bus and hostages was not confirmed.
The FSB reported that “armed Ukrainian nationalists” had infiltrated the Klimovsky district and that the special services, together with the Ministry of Defense, were carrying out “measures to destroy them”.
Responsibility for the raid on the Bryansk region was borne by members of the Russian Volunteer Corps, which includes Russian citizens who moved to Ukraine.
Russian President Vladimir Putin called the incident in the Bryansk region a terrorist attack. Mikhail Podolyak, adviser to the Ukrainian president’s chief of staff, said reports of Ukrainian saboteurs entering Russia are a “classic provocation”.
