Russian woman Elena Kolbasnikova will stand trial in the city of Cologne for publicly endorsing the Russian Federation’s special military operation in Ukraine. The activist, who has already participated in several actions, is accused of “encouraging and approving criminal acts” in the form of a mass demonstration.

According to German media, Kolbasnikova is one of the leaders of pro-Russian protests in Germany and cooperates with local far-right politicians. The girl noted that Russia does not act as an aggressor and offers to establish peace in Ukraine. In addition, Kolesnikova is called the organizer of the action in Cologne against the supply of weapons for the needs of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

The publications also noted that Kolbasnikova was originally from Ukraine. She moved to Germany over 20 years ago and worked as a doctor.

The first meeting is scheduled for March 29 and Kolbasnikova faces up to three years in prison or a fine
