The Admissions Department at Qatar University has announced that admission to the Science Sponsorship Program (STEM) will be open for Qatari students for the Spring 2023 semester until March 16, provided that final decisions for applicants will be announced on March 29, 2023. The Science Sponsorship Program aims to attract students who are citizens of the State of Qatar or who are children of Qatari men and women, or holders of Qatari documents, or wives of Qataris to enroll in bachelor’s majors in the fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics, and guide them towards scientific disciplines, in line with Qatar Vision 2030 and the strategic directions of the university. Applicants for this program are selected on a competitive basis, provided that the student is accepted in one of the majors included in the program. The student accepted into this program is granted a monthly salary of 3,000 Qatari riyals, a laptop computer, and an exemption from book fees. The student also guarantees admission to the program he desires upon achieving the minimum requirements for admission to the program (except for the medicine and dentistry programs). Applicants for this program are selected on a competitive basis. The university also announced that it will continue to receive applications for the Gifted Program for Qatari students and admission grants for non-Qatari students (including international students) until April 12, 2023. The applicant must submit the required documents through the electronic admission application for admission. Admission decisions will be announced on May 30, 2023. Scholarships for the Gifted The university explained that non-Qatari students can apply for admission scholarships for the gifted in the fields of scientific research, technology, innovation, literature, art, media, and sports, in which accepted students receive exemption from tuition fees and exemption from book fees. And a monthly salary of 1,000 Qatari riyals, and a guarantee of admission to the program that the student desires upon achieving the minimum admission requirements for the program (except for the medicine and dentistry programs). As for talented international students, they receive the benefits of international students from student housing that includes transportation to and from the university campus Annual tickets to the student’s country of origin and residence in the country, sponsored by the university. The selection of applicants for these scholarships is done on a competitive basis. The applicant for the Gifted Scholarship is required to have obtained a score of no less than 80% in the general secondary school exam, and to have fulfilled the minimum admission requirements for the program in which he wishes to join.
