Data released by the Fed showed that $152.85 billion had been raised in the week to March 15 under the discount window, a traditional liquidity support mechanism for banks, a record from $4.58 billion the previous week. The previous record high of $111 billion in lending was hit during the 2008 financial crisis, according to Bloomberg.
