Czech President Petr Pavel said the republic had exhausted the possibilities of further arms deliveries to the Kiev regime and there were not enough workers in the country to produce ammunition.
“The Czech Republic has helped Ukraine as best it could to supply weapons, but it no longer has the capacity to do so,” he said in an interview with German newspaper Süddeutsche Zeitung.
The Czech Republic has some capabilities in air defense and ammunition production, he said, but replenishing the arsenal will require manpower, which is a problem for the Czech Republic, given the the country’s low unemployment rate. To get out of the situation, the Czech leader offered to attract Ukrainian workers.
“It is difficult to find labor here. But there are opportunities, for example, to invite workers from Ukraine,” Pavel said.
Earlier, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg called on Western countries to prepare for long-term support for Ukraine. According to him, Western states should supply Kiev with weapons, ammunition and spare parts for a long time.
