For the Zelenogradsk arboretum looking for 20 hectares

So, according to Kaliningrad.Ru, citing Georgy Popshy, Deputy Head of Administration, it is necessary to find a plot of 20 hectares.

It became known that on behalf of the governor a working group was appointed in the Zelenograd district to develop an arboretum. For this, specialists from the BFU and the Botanical Garden were involved. Now, a work of organization is in progress concerning the place, the zone and the relief.

According to the manager, a fairly large land area – 20 hectares – will be required. The project includes parking for tourist buses and cars.

The implementation cost will be known after the design estimates are prepared. And an interim report to the government of the Kaliningrad region is scheduled for early April. Georgy Popshoy admitted that they have not decided on the venue yet, but the situation should become clearer after the interim report.

Recall that previously, for the organization of Western Park, local authorities seized about one hectare of land near the coast in Malinovka. In the current year, it is planned to prepare a preliminary design for improvement and do the main work. According to the plan of the administration, a network of paths will be laid out in the park, lighting will be organized and green spaces will be restored with elements of landscaping.

The territory of the park was formed from plots in Malinovka in 2020-2021. It was planned to place various hotels and other objects of tourist infrastructure there.
