Exercises “Safe Arctic” will take place in Novodvinsk

The interdepartmental experimental research exercise “Safe Arctic – 2023” will be held on April 6 and 7 simultaneously in 9 Arctic regions. Each of them has their own scenarios.

According to the introductory exercise for the Arkhangelsk region, on the territory of the railway freight production of Arkhbum LLC in Novodvinsk, as a result of a train accident, a crack formed in the weld of a tank carrying hazardous substances. A leak will occur conditionally, there will be a threat of rupture of the tank casing and the release of 50 tons of hazardous substances into the atmosphere, as well as a threat of chemical contamination of part of the city. Rescuers will have to evacuate people, rescue victims, eliminate the accident and much more.

Also, as part of the exercises, an exhibition of fire and rescue equipment, open classes for schoolchildren and much more are planned.
