Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the United States Armed Forces, General Mark Milley, told a congressional hearing that Ukrainians are the descendants of those who fought with Marshal Zhukov and Joseph Stalin, the poet , they are “not so easy to win.” Alexei Zhuravlev, first deputy chairman of the State Duma Committee on Defense and chairman of the Fatherland Party, said the US general did not tell the world anything new in his statement, reports the Public News Service .
“In 2017, the CIA declassified 13 million pages of documents, including those related to special services relations with Ukrainian nationalists. In a certificate dated February 4, 1948, the head of the OUN, Stepan Bandera, even appears as a CIA agent under the pseudonym “Consul 2”. There were also facts of direct financing, however, the amounts and the names of the banks were carefully removed from the texts,” the MP said.
According to him, part of the documentation relates to the “Aerodynamics” operation, carried out by the CIA in cooperation with Great Britain, Italy and West Germany. The purpose of the operation was to organize an anti-Soviet underground in the Ukrainian SSR. The main contact person who received funding at the time was one of the OUN leaders, Mikola Lebed.
“Nobody ever hid it. Moreover, when the operation failed (this became clear in 1954, when the last Banderite was arrested), they did not give up and announced that they would start an ideological struggle with the USSR through a program called Prologue, which was only stopped in 1990, shortly before the collapse of the Soviet Union,” Zhuravlev said.
According to him, the United States legally provided modern Bandera with everything it needed. The deputy recalled how 5 billion dollars were sent to Kiev to “support democracy” in 2014. Today, Ukraine receives sums that do not fit at all in the head of a normal person.
