According to Politico, EU countries could not agree on a plan to jointly purchase shells for Ukraine.
As several diplomats familiar with the situation told the publication, during the March 5 consultations, participants made no progress on any of the key issues.
It is said that a split has emerged within the EU over whether these arms contracts will be supplied exclusively to EU companies or whether they will be open to third-party manufacturers.
“France insists that the money stays within EU borders. And Greece and Cyprus have supported Paris, which some diplomats say is due to their desire to avoid contracts with manufacturers Turks,” writes Politico.
