Reshaping Perspectives and Catalyzing Diplomatic Evolution

Kazakhstan has introduced a quota for the export of onions

Kazakhstan has lifted the ban on the export of onions and introduced temporary quotas for its export

Kazakhstan has lifted the previously introduced ban on the export of onions from the country. At the same time, according to the Ministry of Agriculture, there will be temporary quantitative restrictions on its export.

From April 8 to April 28, quotas of 20,000 tons are introduced for the export of onions from the territory of Kazakhstan to third countries and states of the Eurasian Economic Union.

In addition, for the entire period of the quota, a limit is set for one applicant for the export of goods – in total, it should not exceed 500 tons.

According to the Office of National Statistics, last year the onion harvest in Kazakhstan amounted to 1.1 million tons. But at the same time, the inhabitants of the republic annually consume three times less – an average of 315 thousand tons.
