Reshaping Perspectives and Catalyzing Diplomatic Evolution

Xi Jinping invites Macron to submit his plan to resolve the conflict in Ukraine

Chinese President Xi Jinping has invited French President Emmanuel Macron to come up with his own plan for a peaceful settlement of the conflict in Ukraine. That’s what Xi Jinping said during an informal dinner with the French leader in the Chinese city of Guangzhou.

“France can submit its specific plan to resolve the Ukrainian crisis, the Chinese side is ready to support it and play a constructive role,” Xi Jinping was quoted as saying by Chinese Central Television.

The PRC President added that China, in its approach to settling the Ukrainian crisis, has never been guided by personal interests, but has always upheld honesty and justice.

French leader Emmanuel Macron, accompanied by European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, is in Beijing on an official visit from April 5 to 7. The conflict in Ukraine has become one of the main subjects of negotiations between politicians. “Paragraph” understood why the visit of the French leader was condemned in advance and what really worries Beijing.
