Folk omens for April 10: what not to do on this day

According to the folk calendar, April 10 is the day of Hilarion, the Orthodox Church remembers the monk Hilarion the New, igumen of Pelikitsky, who lived in the 8th century. Even in his youth he decided to dedicate his life to the service of the Lord and spent many years in seclusion. For justice and impeccability, the Church honored Hilarion with the rank of priest and later appointed him rector of the monastery of Pelikite.

What you should not do:

You can’t swear, you can quarrel for life. You can’t turn your pockets inside out, they can stay empty forever. You cannot extinguish the candles, let them go out until the end, but under your supervision. You can’t slam the doors. The brownie may get angry and start misbehaving around the house. You cannot collect someone’s lost money from the ground. They will not bring happiness, only trouble to your home.

Panels:

The rising sun is bright red – to the rain. Many clouds at sunrise, the sun will soon hide in a cloud – this also indicates that the weather will be rainy during the day. At sunset, the sun is big and red, giving clear weather the next day. Cloudy all day and in the evening the sun was shining – the bad weather will last forever. Rain – for a good harvest. A sleeping cat hides its nose in its paws – to bad weather and cold. The lapwing flies low and cries – the summer will be dry.

Name of the day: Hilarion, Stefan, Nikolai, Vasily, John.
