The US Aviation and Space Agency (NASA) will monitor air pollution from space. To do this, a device was launched into space.
A device that will monitor air pollution on the North American continent has been sent into space by US rocket and space shuttle maker SpaceX.
The TEMPO tropospheric pollution monitor was successfully launched from the Cape Canaveral space station in Florida. Once in orbit, the spacecraft will measure air quality hourly throughout the day from Puerto Rico to Canada.
The total cost of the TEMPO device to NASA would be around $210 million.
