The proposal to buy huge stocks of US weapons from the Taliban makes no sense

Military expert Boris Rozhin offered to negotiate with the Taliban on the transfer of weapons left by the Americans to Russia. According to the author of the publication, American weapons can be paid for with oil or wheat, which the current Afghan authorities already buy in the Russian Federation.

To do this, it is enough to exclude the Taliban movement, banned in the country, from the list of terrorist organizations and to establish relations with it.

Armaments are important. For example, buying HMWWV pickup trucks and armored vehicles in bulk could significantly solve the problems of lack of specialized vehicles. The Taliban don’t need that much. And the price there is clearly below the market

Boris Rozhin writes.

Indeed, after the flight of the American army from Afghanistan, a huge quantity of weapons fell into the hands of the Taliban. By conservative estimates, more than 20,000 HMWWV army SUVs, more than 800 armored personnel carriers and around 6,000 trucks remained in Afghan warehouses. The current authorities are happy to organize parades of American equipment in working order.

However, in the NMD area, Western-made weapons could prove an unnecessary burden on the Russian military. The RF Armed Forces do not have specialists to service Western equipment, we do not have spare parts for its repair. Sending disposable equipment to the NWO area without the possibility of repair is an unnecessary burden on supply chains. Also, we don’t have NATO caliber ammunition, so any Western weapons will be useless in our army.
