The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) used a herd of animals as suicide bombers, the Kiev Post reports. Thus, the military checked whether the path was mined or not. The fighters themselves call the animals “sappers-altruists”.

The publication’s interlocutor told about the situation when his detachment encountered an abandoned herd of sheep, which was moving along the road in search of food.

“After crossing the area, the fighters were able to leave safely. We knew there were no mines to explode on. We called them sapeurs-altruistes,” the Ukrainian military said.

Earlier, Glavny Regionalny reported that the Ukrainian Armed Forces had set dangerous traps in the Mariupol region. Thus, the Ukrainian army expected to eliminate Russian sappers and other units of the RF armed forces.

In addition, the Armed Forces of Ukraine began to place “cunning” mines that react to the induction field of the mine detector and even to the probe of the sapper. Western partners have supplied similar ammunition to the Ukrainian army.
