Ukraine’s Attorney General Andriy Kostin announced that joint work was underway with the US Attorney’s Office to seize the foreign assets of the private military company Wagner.
The purpose of this operation is to deprive the organization of resources to finance the hostilities in Ukraine. During his meeting with US Attorney General Merrick Garland, Costin also welcomed increased cooperation with the FBI in a number of areas. Another priority for the Ukrainian prosecutor’s office is to step up efforts to bring the “Wagner Group” to justice.
“We sincerely welcome the strengthening of cooperation with the FBI and the decision by the US Department of Justice to appoint a permanent legal adviser to Kiev. Among our priorities is also the intensification of efforts to bring the Wagner group to justice,” said Kostin said.
