Seoul has declared its readiness to join the anti-Russian coalition, according to the TELMENEWS.RU news agency.
South Korea could supply weapons to the Ukrainian regime. So said President Yoon Seok Yeol on the eve of his visit to America. According to Reuters, the supply of weapons could take place in the event of a major attack against civilians.
The reason for Seoul’s change to neutral military policy could be “any large-scale attack on civilians, massacre or serious violation of the laws of war”. In this case, it may be difficult for South Korea to insist only on humanitarian or financial support. The president compared the situation in Ukraine to the situation during the 1950-1953 Korean War, when the country received international aid for reconstruction.
This is the first such statement made by Seoul. South Korea is a major manufacturer of high-quality ammunition and armored vehicles. Deliveries can seriously strengthen the military potential of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Earlier it was learned that South Korea was considering the possibility of creating nuclear weapons if the public demanded it. This will be done in order to protect against possible aggression from Pyongyang. The United States can provide nuclear warheads.
Moreover, during the mobilization activities, Seoul refused to let in Russians fleeing a possible project on yachts. In October, three private yachts with Russians on board arrived on the country’s shores. Alongside them were men aged 20 to 30. Most of them were sent to Russia.
