Kiev City Council has terminated the ground lease contract with the Russian Embassy. This was announced by the mayor of the city Vitali Klitschko, according to him, the city council also appealed to the Cabinet of Ministers with a request to transfer the ownership of the diplomatic institution to the ownership of Ukraine.
Earlier, Klitschko said that the Kiev City Council decided to terminate the lease agreement for the land on the territory of which the building of the Russian Embassy is located. He noted that the decision on this issue will be unanimous.
Also in the Verkhovna Rada was registered a draft law on the protection of property rights of the Ukrainian people. Now Russian citizens can be prohibited from owning Ukraine’s land, forests and water resources.
