In the video, a fire broke out in the engine of an American plane after it collided with a bird

The engine of an American Airlines Boeing 737 caught fire after hitting a flock of geese about 25 minutes after takeoff in Ohio on Sunday.

Video of the Phoenix-bound flight appears as it returns to John Glenn International Airport in Columbus, with flames and smoke billowing from the right engine. The plane managed to land safely, and there were no reports of any injuries.

The plane took off from the airport at about 7:43 am local time, and the engine caught fire less than 30 minutes later before the plane had to return, and landed at about 8:22 am, according to Russia Today.

A passenger on the plane said passengers heard a loud banging in the plane, with the pilot allegedly telling them they had run into a flock of geese shortly after takeoff.
