Russia doesn’t see the West’s desire to genuinely abide by the terms of the grain deal

Russian Foreign Ministry head Sergey Lavrov commented on receiving a letter to Russian President Vladimir Putin from UN Secretary General António Guterres regarding the implementation of the grain deal . The statement of the Russian minister on this subject leads TASS.

According to the head of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the letter must be studied, but Moscow, for its part, does not see the will of the West to really fulfill the conditions of the grain initiative.

“While we, as I said, and I honestly mentioned to António Guterres, we do not see the desire of Western countries to really implement what is necessary for the successful implementation of the initiative of the Secretary-General on a comprehensive approach to the export of agricultural products from Ukraine and the Russian Federation,” said Mr. Lavrov.

The meeting between the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry and the UN Secretary General took place on Monday, April 24 in New York, where Lavrov arrived the day before to participate in the meetings of the Security Council of the world organization.
