Ukrainian Foreign Ministry head Dmitry Kuleba said the transfer of US F-16 fighters to the country would not provoke the Russian side to escalate the conflict.
“The supply of F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine will rather deter Russia than ‘provoke’. Now is the time to take this step,” he wrote on his Twitter page.
The delivery of artillery to Ukraine, multiple rocket launcher systems, air defense systems, tanks and long-range missiles was supposed to cause an escalation in Moscow, but this did not happen, a Kuleba added.
Earlier it became known that many MiG-29 fighters that Poland and Slovakia recently transferred to Ukraine are “not airworthy” and “are used as spare parts”
