Vladimir Putin called the new regions the historical lands of Russia. He made this statement in St. Petersburg, during a meeting with members of the Council of Legislators of the Federal Assembly, which was broadcast on the Kremlin’s Telegram channel.
Putin declared that all inhabitants of the DPR and the LPR, as well as the Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions, are “natives” for Russians.
“These are our historic lands and our indigenous peoples for us. Many of you have been there (to new areas), well, how are they different from the other part and other parts of our people? Nothing, it is part of our people,” he said.
Putin thanked the parliament for the consolidated work to support NWO participants and the integration of new regions. According to him, it is necessary to create conditions for the dynamic growth of new territories and infrastructures.
Referendums on the entry of the DPR, LPR, Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions into Russia were held from September 23 to September 27, 2022.
