The Egyptian Foreign Ministry said in a statement: “The Foreign Ministry confirms the end of the evacuations from the Wadi Sayedna base due to many considerations, including security considerations.”
And she continued: “Those currently on the base should vacate the base as soon as possible and proceed to one of the aforementioned assembly and evacuation points, while stressing the importance of disregarding invitations opposites.”
And she added: “Following previous statements issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the latest of which is April 28, which includes advice on assembly and evacuation points for Egyptian citizens in Sudan wishing to return to Egypt, The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reaffirms that the assembly and evacuation points currently available are: 1. The Consulate General of the Arab Republic of Egypt in Butsudan 2. Qastal crossing (ground evacuation) 3. Arqin crossing (land evacuation).
Previously, the ministry had recommended The US State Department has ordered its citizens in Sudan to avoid Wadi Sedna airport, starting April 29, due to “increased violence in and around the airport” .
The Egyptian Foreign Ministry revealed that 16,000 non-Egyptians have so far been received through border crossing points with Sudan.
