Half as many Russians chose to travel across the country this summer as last year, reports RIA Novosti citing Travelata research.

According to the survey, only 26% of citizens would like to travel to the Russian Federation. Travelers are more actively interested in Turkey, Abkhazia, Egypt and the United Arab Emirates.

  • The number of sales for June-August exceeds last year’s figures by 36%. Last year, due to the difficult political situation, many international flights were suspended, so that 54% of vacationers who had already purchased tours visited domestic resorts in the summer, according to the study.

The report indicates that the largest number of citizens of the Russian Federation plan to spend their holidays in Turkey, where the average holiday voucher is 226,000 rubles. The second place is occupied by rest in the interior of the country, the third is Abkhazia.
