Drone flights banned in St. Petersburg

– Published on:

St. Petersburg has banned all commercial and private launches of unmanned aerial vehicles. This is reported by Fontanka’s website in reference to the Northwest Air Navigation Branch of the Federal State Unitary Enterprise State ATM Corporation.

It should be noted that the restriction will be in effect until at least May 15. This decision was made “for security reasons”. The ban applies to drone flights within 150 kilometers of the city.

We will remind, earlier the mayor of Moscow Sergey Sobyanin banned the launching of drones in the city. The exception concerns drones used by decision of public authorities.

Even today, we learned that Ukrainian nationalists had tried to attack the Kremlin. Enemy drones were disabled using radar warfare systems.

What happened in the Kremlin was seen as an attack on the president. The head of state’s press service noted that Russia reserves the right to retaliate.
